UAE e-invoicing is mandatory for business-to-business and business-to-government invoices. Businesses with revenue of AED 50 million or more must appoint an accredited service provider by 30 October 2026 and go live on 1 January 2027. Smaller businesses appoint by 31 March 2027 and go live on 1 July 2027.
What are the e-invoicing deadlines?
| Who | Appoint a provider by | Go live |
|---|---|---|
| Revenue AED 50 million or more | 30 October 2026 | 1 January 2027 |
| Revenue below AED 50 million | 31 March 2027 | 1 July 2027 |
| Government entities | 31 March 2027 | 1 October 2027 |
The phases come from Ministerial Decision No. 244 of 2025. In May 2026 the Ministry of Finance moved the first appointment deadline from 31 July to 30 October 2026 and kept every go-live date unchanged (Ministry of Finance). Check your readiness and countdown.
Where do we start? A readiness assessment
With your data, not your software. We sample your invoices and credit notes, check customer TRNs and tax codes, list every system that issues invoices and map the gaps against the mandatory fields. The output is a dated plan that works back from your appointment and go-live deadlines, with owners for each task.
“the timeline for the commencement of mandatory implementation will remain unchanged”
How do you choose an accredited service provider?
Only accredited providers can carry e-invoices. The Ministry had approved 32 by May 2026 (Ministry of Finance), and since 1 October 2026 providers must pass assessments and testing for full accreditation, with the pre-approval stage removed (VATupdate on Ministerial Decision No. 168 of 2026). We shortlist providers that connect to your ERP, handle your invoice types and fit your volume, then run test scenarios before you sign.
What does ERP integration involve?
Mapping each field your system produces to the required structured format, fixing master data, and connecting the ERP to the provider through an API or connector. Invoices travel in a five-corner model: your system, your provider, the buyer's provider, the buyer, and the tax authority receiving the data (Gulf News on the pilot launch). We work with the finance team and your ERP partner so nothing is lost between them.
How do testing and go-live work?
We test standard invoices, credit notes, discounts, foreign-currency and zero-rated cases, and rejected messages before the switch. The pilot and voluntary phase opened on 1 July 2026, so businesses can go live early on their own timetable (Gulf News). After go-live we monitor rejections and reconcile e-invoice data to the VAT return every period.
What are the penalties?
| Violation | Penalty |
|---|---|

| Not issuing an e-invoice through the system | AED 100 per invoice, up to AED 5,000 a month |
| Not issuing an e-credit note through the system | AED 100 per note, up to AED 5,000 a month |
| Not reporting a system failure | AED 1,000 per day |
