Your next e-invoicing deadline

  1. Appoint an accredited service provider
  2. Go live: issue e-invoices

Missing the provider deadline costs AED 5,000 for every month of delay.

UAE e-invoicing is mandatory for business-to-business and business-to-government invoices. Businesses with revenue of AED 50 million or more must appoint an accredited service provider by 30 October 2026 and go live on 1 January 2027. Smaller businesses appoint by 31 March 2027 and go live on 1 July 2027.

What changes

Three things every finance team needs to know.

Every invoice becomes structured data that travels through accredited providers, with the tax authority receiving it as it happens.

Data, not PDFs

An e-invoice is structured data that systems read automatically. Emailed PDFs stop counting for in-scope invoices once your phase starts (Ministerial Decision No. 244 of 2025).

Sent through accredited providers

Invoices move in a five-corner model: you, your provider, your customer's provider, your customer, and the tax authority receiving the data (Gulf News).

The FTA sees it as it happens

Invoice data reaches the authority close to real time, so VAT returns must match it. Errors once fixed at quarter end become visible straight away.

60-second readiness check

How ready are you?

Six questions. You get a readiness score and the first actions for your business straight away. Send it to us and we reply within one business day with a dated plan and a fixed-fee quote.

1.What is your annual revenue?
2.Have you appointed an accredited service provider?
3.Where are your invoices created?
4.Do your customer records hold a correct TRN for every VAT-registered customer?
5.How are credit notes and corrections issued?
6.Is someone responsible for the project with a plan and dates?

Frequently asked questions

Who must use e-invoicing in the UAE?

+

Businesses issuing business-to-business and business-to-government invoices. Business-to-consumer transactions are excluded at this stage.

What is the deadline for my business?

+

Revenue of AED 50 million or more: appoint an accredited service provider by 30 October 2026 and go live on 1 January 2027. Below AED 50 million: appoint by 31 March 2027 and go live on 1 July 2027.

What happens if we miss the deadline?

+

Not implementing the system or appointing a provider on time costs AED 5,000 for each month of delay, under Cabinet Decision No. 106 of 2025.

Is a PDF invoice by email still allowed?

+

Not for in-scope invoices once your phase starts. E-invoices are structured data exchanged through accredited service providers.

Do we need to replace our ERP?

+

Usually not. Most projects connect the existing ERP or accounting system to an accredited provider and clean the data it sends.

How long does implementation take?

+

It depends on the number of systems, invoice types and data quality. The readiness check tells you where you stand; we then give a dated plan and a fixed fee.
