UAE businesses with revenue of AED 50 million or more must issue e-invoices from 1 January 2027, having appointed an accredited service provider by 30 October 2026. Businesses below AED 50 million appoint a provider by 31 March 2027 and go live on 1 July 2027. Consumer invoices are outside the first phase.

What are the e-invoicing deadlines?

Revenue of AED 50 million or more: appoint an accredited service provider by 30 October 2026, after the Ministry moved the date from 31 July (Ministry of Finance), and go live on 1 January 2027. Below AED 50 million: appoint by 31 March 2027 and go live on 1 July 2027. Government entities go live on 1 October 2027 (Ministerial Decision No. 244 of 2025). Business-to-consumer invoices are not in the first phase.

What does implementation involve?

Five steps: choose an accredited service provider, map your invoice data to the required fields, fix master data such as customer TRNs and item codes, connect your accounting or ERP system, and test with real invoices before go-live. Data quality is where projects slip: missing TRNs and inconsistent tax codes stop invoices from validating.

How do you choose a service provider?

Check that the provider is on the accredited list, connects to your ERP without manual exports, handles credit notes and self-billing cases, and keeps the records you must retain. Compare onboarding time and support, not just price per invoice. We run the shortlist and test scenarios on your actual invoice types.

How does e-invoicing change VAT compliance?

The tax authority sees invoice data close to real time, so VAT returns must match it. Errors that used to be corrected at the quarter end become visible straight away. Clean up VAT coding and reconciliations before go-live, and keep the 2026 changes to the Tax Procedures Law in view (Ministry of Finance).
