Accounting and bookkeeping services in Abu Dhabi

Written by AccWins tax & advisory team Reviewed by Mr. Waqar Updated

We keep monthly books, file quarterly VAT returns and prepare corporate tax returns for Abu Dhabi companies on the mainland and in free zones such as KEZAD, Masdar City and twofour54. Fees are fixed monthly and the work is done online. Corporate tax and VAT follow the same federal rules in every emirate.

Who we work with in Abu Dhabi

Owner-managed companies licensed by the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development, and free zone companies in KEZAD, Masdar City Free Zone and twofour54. The service suits contractors, suppliers to larger groups, consultancies, healthcare and hospitality businesses, where clean books and a valid tax position often matter for tenders and supplier registration.

What is included each month?

  • Recording sales, purchases and expenses, with bank reconciliations.
  • Project and contract tracking for contractors and service companies.
  • Monthly profit and loss and balance sheet.
  • VAT working papers for the return due 28 days after each quarter.
  • A corporate tax file kept current, so the annual return is quick.

“Within a maximum of nine (9) months from the end of their relevant Tax Period.”

Which rules apply in Abu Dhabi?

The same federal rules as the rest of the UAE. Corporate tax is 0% on taxable income up to AED 375,000 and 9% above it (Cabinet Decision No. 116 of 2022). Returns are due within 9 months of the year end (Federal Tax Authority). Accounts must follow IFRS, or IFRS for SMEs where revenue is AED 50 million or less (DLA Piper summary of Ministerial Decision No. 114 of 2023), and records must be kept for 7 years (Finance Middle East on FTA guidance). Companies in ADGM follow ADGM's own accounting and filing rules in addition.
