Accounting and bookkeeping services in Sharjah

Written by AccWins tax & advisory team Reviewed by Mr. Waqar Updated

We provide monthly bookkeeping, quarterly VAT returns and annual corporate tax filing for Sharjah companies on the mainland and in free zones such as SAIF Zone, Hamriyah, SHAMS and SPC. Fees are fixed monthly. The same federal tax rules apply in Sharjah as in Dubai, with returns filed on EmaraTax.

Who we work with in Sharjah

Small and mid-size companies licensed by the Sharjah Economic Development Department, and free zone companies in SAIF Zone, Hamriyah Free Zone, Sharjah Media City (SHAMS), Sharjah Publishing City and the Sharjah Research, Technology and Innovation Park. Trading, manufacturing, logistics and media businesses are a natural fit, including owners who also have a company in Dubai.

What is included each month?

  • Recording sales, purchases and expenses, with bank reconciliations.
  • Inventory and cost of sales for trading and manufacturing companies.
  • Monthly profit and loss and balance sheet.
  • VAT working papers for the return due 28 days after each quarter.
  • Corporate tax working file kept up to date through the year.

“Within a maximum of nine (9) months from the end of their relevant Tax Period.”

Do tax rules differ in Sharjah?

No. Corporate tax and VAT are federal, so a Sharjah company follows the same rules as a Dubai company. Corporate tax is 0% on taxable income up to AED 375,000 and 9% above it (Cabinet Decision No. 116 of 2022). VAT registration becomes mandatory above AED 375,000 of taxable supplies in 12 months (Federal Tax Authority). Every company files a corporate tax return within 9 months of its year end (Federal Tax Authority). Free zone companies that want the 0% rate on qualifying income must meet extra conditions, including audited financial statements (Ministerial Decision No. 82 of 2023).
